Statement Upload

Upload bank statements in CSV or PDF format with automatic transaction parsing.

Beel accepts both CSV and PDF bank statements with intelligent parsing that extracts transaction data automatically.

Uploading a Statement

  1. Navigate to Reconciliations in your workspace
  2. Click Upload Statement
  3. Drag and drop your file or click to browse
  4. Beel automatically detects metadata from the file

Supported Formats

  • CSV — Comma-separated transaction files exported from your bank
  • PDF — Standard bank statement PDFs

Files can be up to 52MB in size.

Automatic Metadata Detection

When you upload a statement, Beel extracts:

  • Bank name — Identified from the file content
  • Account number — Last 4 digits (for your reference, not stored in full)
  • Statement period — Start and end dates
  • Currency — Transaction currency

Transaction Parsing

Every transaction from your statement is automatically extracted with:

  • Date — Transaction date
  • Value date — Settlement date (when different from transaction date)
  • Description — Transaction description from the bank
  • Reference — Bank reference number
  • Counterparty — Who the transaction was with
  • Amount — Transaction amount (positive for credits, negative for debits)
  • Balance — Running balance after the transaction
  • Type — Automatic classification (transfer, payment, fee, etc.)

Balance Validation

Beel tracks running balances to catch import errors early. If the parsed balance doesn't match expected calculations, you'll see a warning before proceeding to matching.

Multiple Statements

Upload multiple statement periods to build a complete reconciliation history. Each statement is tracked independently with its own matching status and progress.

File Security

All uploaded files are encrypted at rest and stored in secure cloud storage. Access is restricted to members of your workspace through row-level security policies.
